Our ESG Vision

At AES Experiential Learning and Living, sustainability shapes our purpose and priorities across every level of our organisation—from our educational programmes and accommodation to our operational and investment decisions and partnerships. Inspired by global best practices and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, our ESG vision is guided by a long-term commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and transparent governance.

Our vision is to:

Advance leading sustainability practices across education, operations, and community impact—leveraging our expertise to implement what we teach and believe.

Our ESG commitment is built around four guiding principles:

  • Deliver our premium education programmes accommodation services as well as other services sustainably.
  • Protect and enhance the communities and environments we operate in.
  • Uphold ethical, inclusive practices that benefit all stakeholders—employees, students, clients, and partners.
  • Embed ESG considerations in all our decision-making, investment, procurement, and recruitment processes.

Our Environmental Policies

We actively reduce our environmental impact across the following areas:

  • Energy Efficiency: Switch to 100% renewable energy sources, LED lighting, motion sensors, energy-saving appliances as well as smart property management system.
  • Fleet Electrification: transition to electric vehicles and hybrids.
  • Green Travel Programme: Saving miles through avoided commute through online meetings, virtual internship programmes, and work from home.
  • Waste Management: Reduced waste generation, increased repurposing and recycling, partnerships with sustainable waste service providers and charities to donate unused IT and other equipment.
  • Resource Conservation: Minimised paper use, reduced water usage, sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Carbon Reduction: On track to net zero before 2050, with internal KPIs monitored through biannual Townhalls as well as board report. External dashboard and sharing updates in Newsletters and posts quarterly.

 Our Social Policies

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: A diverse and inclusive culture supported EDI training, mentoring, and equitable career progression.
  • Employee Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive wellbeing programmes available to all employees, work-life balance, mental health resources.
  • Education & Engagement: Curriculum-integrated sustainability, student workshops are freely available, and the Lizzie Lowy Culture Abroad Grant to support access to international education.
  • Community Impact: Active involvement in charity initiatives (e.g., Just One Tree), student volunteer opportunities, donations to VCSEs, and mentorship programs for unemployed individuals.

Our Governance Policies

  • Purpose-led Decision-Making: All decisions reflect long-term social and environmental sustainability goals.
  • Values: Integrity, inclusiveness, transparency, and well-being at the core of our company culture.
  • Disclosure & Reporting: Transparent ESG disclosures through the Planet Mark (internationally recognised business sustainability accreditation), internal and external KPIs, and regular stakeholder communications.
  • CANIE Accord: As a signatory of the CANIE Accord, we reaffirm our commitment to leading climate action in the international education sector.
